Snapline
Call the beam that breaks first.

Try it: which beam snaps first?
Tap a beam to call it. Three crates will hang from the deck.
A sketch of the Footbridge, the first structure in the app. In the app every beam has its own strength, the numbers change each round, and the collapse plays out in slow motion.
How a round goes
A footbridge, a crane, a chair, a roof truss: every beam carries its share of the load, and one of them will give way first. Look at the drawing, pick that beam, lock in your call and watch the whole thing come down in slow motion.
- Read the drawing. Tap any beam to see what it carries under a light test weight and how much it can take when pulled. A squeezed beam buckles at 70 % of its strength: the rest of the reasoning is yours.
- Lock in your call. Compare the beams you looked at, then commit to one.
- A four-step briefing shows the load, where the force goes and the weakest link before anything moves.
- Load it and watch. The crates are lowered on, the structure creaks, and the first beam snaps. Halves swing from their joints, chips fly, the rest settles on the ground.
- Score. Called it: 100 points. Close (your beam shares a joint with the one that went): 40.
A daily challenge for everyone
Every day one structure, the same for every player, with its own strengths. Keep a streak, and share your call as a picture.
60 structures in six sets
- Bridges
- Towers and cranes
- Roofs and frames
- Arches and cantilevers
- Around the home
- Letters and creatures
Pratt, Howe and K trusses, a bowstring, a deck arch, a cantilever and a trestle; a pylon, a water tower, a radio mast, a gantry and a derrick; king post, queen post, Fink, scissor and attic trusses; a tied arch, a pointed arch, a viaduct, a balcony, a diving board; a chair, a table, a stepladder, a swing, a bunk bed; the letters A, H, M and W, a giraffe, a camel, a dinosaur, a heron, an umbrella and a windmill. Each one is a real two-dimensional truss, simulated as you watch; beam strengths change with every round, so no structure plays the same way twice. In each set the simple ones come first.
Zoom, pinch, listen
Pinch to look closely before choosing, swipe the card away to see the whole drawing, and listen: every click, creak and snap is synthesized in the app.
Free, and Snapline Unlock
Snapline is free: the daily challenge on all sixty structures, the Roofs and frames set and the share card. Snapline Unlock opens the other five sets, Engineer mode (no beam card, read the drawing alone, double points) and your history. It is a single purchase of $3.99 (the price in your country may differ), not a subscription, and you can restore it on your other Apple devices with the same Apple ID. No ads.
Missing a structure?
Ask for it from Settings, or add your vote to what others asked for. The developer picks what to build next. That is the only time Snapline uses the network: your words go to a small board the developer reads; no account, nothing about you is stored. See the privacy policy.
